Sacramento Kings waive Filip Petrusev

ImageThe Sacramento Kings will return from its two-week, six-game road trip with one less player on the active roster. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings have waived center Filip Petrsuev as they plan to keep the 15th and final roster spot open “for the foreseeable future.” Petrsuev, 23, has reportedly been linked to Greek League club Olympiacos–the former club of current Sacramento forward Sasha Vezenkov. Over two appearances with the Kings after being acquired in a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers, Petrusev scored three points over seven minutes of game action. About Filip Petrusev Filip Petrusev is a Serbian center who attended Gonzaga from 2018-20, where he was named WCC Player of the Year in 2020 after posting 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 56 percent shooting from the field over 33 games. After being selected with the 50th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Petrusev played overseas in the EuroLeague and ABA League. Last season with Crvena zvezda mts, the 6’11 big averaged 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 59 percent from the field over 24 appearances.
