Dylan Widger-USA TODAY Sports Coach Keatts fills the position left by Coach Justus Brett Nelson is joining Coach Keatts’ staff from his assistant coaching position at UMass. He brings 16 years of coaching experience, including 4 years as a head coach. Nelson was born in West Virginia and was a high school McDonald’s All American. He played college ball at Florida under Billy Donavan, including playing in the NCAAT Title game in 2000. He was a two-time All-SEC selection and ended his career as the school’s leader in three-pointers made and attempted, ranked second in steals, and fourteenth in points scored in school history His coaching career includes stints as assistant coach at Mercer, Arkansas, Drake, Ball State, Marquette and UMass.
