NC State Subdues Tennessee Martin 81-67

Image LJ Thomas hits a three pointer from the corner. Dennis Parker, Jr is blocking out for the rebound. It’s raining threes! Game Summary: We anticipated that the only way this game could go sideways was if UT-Martin kept themselves in it with the three-point shot. What we didn’t anticipate was the Wolfpack taking, and making, more threes than the Skyhawks. After UT-M’s Crews hit 3-5 3PT shots early, and things were a little tight, the Pack settled down and focused, and he didn’t hit any more. From that point on, the Pack slowly grew the lead and were never seriously challenged. Overall Takeaways:
  • The Pack took 34 3PT shots, hitting 38.2%
  • The Pack got 16 assists on 31 made shots.
  • The Pack got 20 points off turnovers.
Keatts Comments I was worried about this game due to the team being focused on exams. Probably because of that we started slowly and didn’t defend well in the first half. But in the second half we defended better. Mo Diarra - Mo was held out due to a sore knee, nothing serious. They just want to give it a couple of days’ rest. He could have played if needed. Individual Highlights
  • DJ Burns and Dennis Parker, Jr had double-doubles
  • DJ Burns had his career highs in rebounds and blocked shots, and led the team in assists
  • DJ Horne led the team in scoring, shooting 60% from 3PT
