Only Alex Birchmeier Days Until Penn State Football

Image Photo by Scott Taetsch/Getty Images A touted redshirt offensive lineman means we are a day closer Alex Birchmeier wears No. 63 and that’s how many days we are away from Penn State’s football season kicking off at West Virginia. The state champion wrestler was a consensus four-star recruit and Under Armour All-American in Penn State’s 2022 class. Last year, he redshirted and saw other linemen from his class get on the field. But, that will almost assuredly change in 2024. Offensive line coach Phil Trautwein is known for playing his depth, especially early in the season. Birchmeier figures to get some snaps early in the season even with other talented young offensive linemen on the roster. Look for Birchmeier to get some run along the interior offensive line in games against Kent State and Bowling Green. Penn State is on the field in 63 days against West Virginia!
