THE TALE Playing at one of the North Jersey standout high schools, Jahmir Joseph came on the scene in a major way after a breakout sophomore season at St. Joseph’s. He parlayed his strong play into multiple Power 4 offers, but focused on four schools heading into official visits: Penn State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Stanford. Visits to Palo Alto and South Bend were first on the docket, with a trip to Happy Valley coming this past weekend. Joseph, apparently, saw all he needed to see, making the call for the Nittany Lions fresh off a multi-day visit to State College. Joseph becomes the 15th commitment in Penn State’s 2025 class, and joins four-star Daryus Dixson and three-star Xxavier Thomas as the third cornerback in the class. OUTLOOK Really nice win here for Penn State, but with Terry Smith at the helm for cornerbacks are we really surprised? He’s pretty much reached 2010 Larry Johnson Sr. level when it comes to his position — both the pay on-the-field and the results in recruiting. Just lock in a strong corner class every year with Terry until the end of time. Lots to like here with Joseph. Good size and frame at 6-foot-0, 185 pounds. Above-average athlete who shows some nice hops on the hardwood for someone his size. Productive player in one of the better high school football leagues in the country, picking off 6 passes and breaking up 23 as as sophomore and junior.
