Sooners earn another prediction for 5-star OT Ty Haywood

Though a commitment may not be in sight, the Oklahoma Sooners have made significant progress in recruiting five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood. Haywood, out of Denton Ryan High School, has been trending to the Sooners for the last week and a half. They’ve earned several predictions for the elite offensive line prospect. Justin Wells, of Texas Insider and On3 and Josh McCuistion of SoonerScoop have issued predictions favoring the Sooners. Now, it’s Landyn Rosow, a Texas A&M insider, joining his colleagues at On3 in favoring Oklahoma for Ty Haywood. Haywood is the No. 11 player in On3’s national recruiting rankings and is the No. 3 offensive tackle. He holds offers from 13 of the 16 SEC schools, including Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, and LSU. He also holds offers from Big Ten schools Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, and USC. At last weekend’s Under Armour Next Camp, Haywood was one of On3’s top performers. But with Bill Bedenbaugh’s track record of success developing offensive linemen and Oklahoma’s connections to Denton Ryan through safety Billy Bowman and running back Kalib Hicks, the Sooners should be able to stay in a significant position to add Haywood to the program. Haywood has an official visit scheduled for the middle of June. The Sooners currently have offensive tackle Ryan Fodge and interior offensive lineman Owen Hollenbeck committed to the 2025 recruiting class. They’re also in the mix for five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.
