49ers elevate two from practice squad ahead of Eagles game

The San Francisco 49ers are elevating two players from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, they announced on Saturday. Wide receiver Chris Conley and safety Erik Harris are the two being activated as standard practice squad elevations. #49ers elevated WR Chris Conley and S Erik Harris off the practice squad for tomorrow's game.— Rohan Chakravarthi (@RohanChakrav) December 2, 2023 The 49ers recently signed Harris to their practice squad following the season-ending injury to star Talanoa Hufanga last week against the Seattle Seahawks. Additionally, the 49ers lost safety George Odum to a biceps injury that is expected to sideline him for a few weeks, thinning their depth even more. With Harris being elevated, the 49ers will have three available safeties on their active roster for Sunday’s game against Philadelphia: Tashaun Gipson, Ji’Ayir Brown, and Harris. With the prevalent depth issues, cornerback Isaiah Oliver shared that he would be willing to step up at safety, should the team need him there. “If they need that to happen, that’s something I can do,” Oliver said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “But hopefully we can stay healthy this week.” The 49ers have also called up wideout Chris Conley, who could be insurance in case Ray-Ray McCloud is unable to go. McCloud is listed as questionable on the injury report with a ribs injury.
