Commanders News: 49ers are a two touchdown favorite over Commanders in Week 17

In Week 17, the Washington Commanders (4-11) host the San Francisco 49ers (11-3). While the Commanders are one of the NFL’s worst teams, the 49ers are arguably the league’s best team. The 49ers are elite on both sides of the ball. They have an explosive offense, led by quarterback Brock Purdy, running Christian McCaffrey, tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The defense is led by Joey Bosa and Fred Warner. No NFL team has more stars than the Niners. Two of San Francisco’s stars, left tackle Trent Williams and defensive end Chase Young, will make their returns to FedEx Field next week. Williams, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, spent 10 seasons in the Washington organization before Ron Rivera traded him during the 2020 NFL draft. Since that time, Williams has remained one of the NFL’s best offensive tackles despite his age. Young was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. While he was the 2020 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Young hasn’t been able to return to that level of success, and the Commanders traded him at the NFL trade deadline. So, how do oddsmakers see next week’s game playing out? According to BetMGM, the 49ers have opened as a massive 13-point favorite over the Commanders. That’s not a surprise considering how these teams are currently playing. Here’s a closer look at the opening lines for the Week 17 battle between the Commanders and 49ers. Moneyline (ML)
