Packers 2024 preseason schedule released

Image Photo by Randy Litzinger/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Your chance to watch the Packers in Green Bay before the regular season will be against the Baltimore Ravens. Shortly after the Green Bay Packers’ 2024 regular season schedule was released, the team confirmed its preseason schedule for the squad’s exhibition slate this summer. Usually, the Packers host joint practices with a visiting team — as head coach Matt LaFleur has stated that he sees more value in those controlled reps than beige looks in preseason games. With Green Bay going on the road the first two weeks of the preseason, though, it’s unlikely that joint practices will be hosted in Wisconsin this year, if the team even participates in joint practices during the preseason. Full Packers Preseason Schedule It’s possible that the Packers could visit Cleveland for joint practices this summer, as LaFleur generally likes to practice against teams with a familiar coaching staff to his. LaFleur got his start in the NFL under former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, who was the assistant head coach of the Minnesota Vikings when now Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was the Vikings’ offensive coordinator in 2019. Generally, both LaFleur and Stefanski are considered to come from the same coaching tree, so there might be some crossover there. Week 2 against the Broncos should be a fun conditioning test for Green Bay, as the elevation that early in the season almost certainly will become a factor. If the Packers join Denver for joint practices, endurance should be put to the test. The lone game at Lambeau Field this preseason will be against the Baltimore Ravens. That game, in particular, will be interesting to watch from a kickoff perspective. With the NFL’s new XFL-style kickoff rules, special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia will go toe-to-toe with John Harbaugh, the Ravens’ head coach who comes from a special teams background, in the dress rehearsal for the regular season. After that game, we should have a good feel for how teams will be strategizing around the newly emphasized return game that attempts to avoid touchbacks.
