He put that pizzaz on full display before the Saints’ Week 14 game against the Carolina Panthers after he arrived at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday. Kamara drove a NASCAR-style car to the stadium with flashing lights on top. And fans were loving it. It takes a lot of swag to drive around in a car with your own autograph on it. NASCAR named Kamara a Growth and Engagement Advisor in 2021, where his role is to meet with fans at races and share his own fandom journey through social media. And now, he’s brought his interest in racing to football. Kamara is having a bit of a comeback season this year as well despite missing the first three games with a suspension. The 28-year-old running back has 921 scrimmage yards, including 508 rushing yards, and five total touchdowns. A year ago, Kamara only had four touchdowns and 1,387 total yards. The Saints, though, haven’t been very good this year even with Kamara back in form. New Orleans has lost its past three games, but still sits in second place in the NFC South behind the Atlanta Falcons. A win in Week 14 over the Panthers would be a huge boost not just for the Saints, but for Kamara as well. This offseason will be a big one for Kamara as well. He will have a $18.87 million cap hit in 2024 with no guaranteed money. The Saints may look to restructure or move on from Kamara if they decide there are more pressing needs than a highly-paid running back. For now, though, Kamara is having fun with the Saints.
