Fortunately for New Orleans, Derek Carr and company were able to come out on top in convincing fashion against Tommy DeVito and the Giants, which brought them back to .500 on the season with a record of 7-7. Apparently, there was a lot of motivation heading into this game against the Giants, with some of the team’s older players getting challenged to step up their game for this Week 15 showdown in New Orleans, according to head coach Dennis Allen via John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated. Dennis Allen said some of the veteran, older players were challenged last week 'to step up and be at their best when their best is required'. Although emotions have run high for the Saints over the past few weeks, it seems that the team is firing on all cylinders right now after two solid wins over the Carolina Panthers and Giants. Carr and company will need to continue playing at a high level moving forward, with the team playing two divisional opponents in the final three games along with the Los Angeles Rams. Obviously, the most important game for the Saints will come on New Year’s Eve against the Buccaneers, with whom the team shares the first-place standing.
