Seahawks open as double-digit underdogs in rematch vs. 49ers

Image Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images Seattle was shellacked by the 49ers at home on Thanksgiving.  Can they put up a better fight in the road rematch? The Seattle Seahawks face their second straight road game after nearly pulling off the upset in a 41-35 loss to the Dallas Cowboys at Jerry’s World. This time, it’s a divisional rematch against the San Francisco 49ers who ruined everyone’s Thanksgiving by beating the urine out of the Seahawks in a 31-13 thrashing. Seattle has lost three games in a row and San Francisco has won four straight. Taking that into account, DraftKings Sportsbook has the Seahawks as (+11.5) underdogs. Seattle’s loss to the Cowboys continued a season-long trend in which the Seahawks have not played a complete game in all phases. The offense showed major signs of life with five touchdowns while the defense flatlined. Time is running out on the season for Seattle to finally put everything together. San Francisco rolled over the Philadelphia Eagles 42-19 in a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship game. The 49ers were trailing 6-0 after the first quarter and responded with 14 points in each of the final three quarters. Great. The over/under is 46, which is higher than the 44 total points that the teams combined for in their matchup a few weeks ago. Seattle just gave up 41 points and SF put up 42 on the Eagles. The 49ers might hit the over by themselves. Can Seattle carry over some offensive momentum from the performance against the Cowboys and put up a better effort against the 49ers than they did on Thanksgiving? Will the defense stop anything? If the results this season have shown us anything, it’s that we shouldn’t count on both of those things happening in the same game.
