Raiders-Vikings Week 14: Josh Dobbs keeps quarterback job

After NFL Media reported it, Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell announced Wednesday morning that the team will stick with Josh Dobbs as their starting quarterback Sunday when they visit the Raiders. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PT at Allegiant Stadium. The #Vikings are sticking with Josh Dobbs as their starting QB this week against the #Raiders, per me and @RapSheet.

The team mulled a possible change over the bye. But with All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson back this week, the “Passtronaut” finally gets to play with full weaponry. pic.twitter.com/yPi5q7Elw8— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) December 6, 2023 Like the Raiders, the Vikings had their bye in Week 13. After Dobbs threw for interceptions in a 12-10 home upset loss to the Chicago Bears, O’Connell said the team would consider making a change. The Vikings’ other options were veteran Nick Mullens and rookie Jaren Hall. Yet, the Vikings, who get back star wide receiver Justin Jefferson this week after he’s been out since Week 5 with a hamstring injury, will stick with Dobbs. He is 2-2 as the Minnesota’s starter after being acquired in a trade with Arizona after Vikings’ starter Kirk Cousins went down for the season with a torn achilles. The 5-7 Raiders have faced several backup or weak quarterbacks this season and this week is another opportunity for them to take advantage of a poor quarterback situation.
